The Serengeti migration is not only a thrilling safari experience but also a deeply spiritual journey for those fascinated by biodiversity and the raw power of nature. The open plains, endless horizons, and the pulse of the wild make this adventure a bucket-list event for travelers worldwide. With Ultra Africa Adventure, you’ll explore remote safari camps and the best vantage points to immerse yourself in this spectacle up close and personal.

Day to Day Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our representative will meet you holding a paging board with your name. You will receive a briefing about your upcoming safari and then be transferred to your hotel.

If you arrive early, we can offer you a complimentary city tour, including an opportunity to enjoy a local lunch or BBQ at a traditional bar in town. After the tour, you will return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Arusha Planet Lodge.

Your day begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by pickup and a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you'll embark on a 1-hour walking safari inside the park, guided by an experienced park ranger. The ranger will share insights about the park’s unique ecosystem, animal behavior, indigenous cultures, and the rich variety of flora and fauna.

Don’t be surprised if you encounter migrating herds of Cape buffalo, wildebeests, and zebras or spot olive baboons, giraffes, impalas, gazelles, and a wide range of bird species along the way.

After the walking safari, you'll continue with a game drive through the park. Around midday, you'll stop for a picnic lunch, often at a scenic spot near the Tarangire River, where many animals gather to drink.

Following lunch, your adventure continues with more wildlife viewing. Once the game drive concludes, you'll head to Tarangire Simba Lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night

After a hearty breakfast at your accommodation, set off on a scenic drive from Tarangire to Lake Natron. Along the way, you’ll pass the historic Engaruka Ruins, a fascinating archaeological site once home to a complex irrigation system used by early agricultural communities.

The journey takes you through the stunning and expansive Maasai lands, where the landscapes shift from savannah to volcanic terrain, offering glimpses into the lives of the semi-nomadic Maasai people.

Upon arrival at Lake Natron, you’ll be immersed in one of Tanzania’s most unique and otherworldly environments. Begin your adventure with a guided nature walk along the lake’s dramatic shores, home to thousands of lesser flamingos and striking mineral formations.

Next, embark on a hike to the Engaresero Waterfalls, tucked away in a beautiful gorge. The refreshing plunge pools offer a perfect spot to cool off and relax amidst lush greenery and basalt cliffs.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit a local Maasai village, where you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the community, learn about their traditions, daily life, and enduring cultural heritage.

As the day winds down, check in at Giraffe Eco Lodge for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquility and raw beauty of Lake Natron.

After breakfast, depart Lake Natron for a scenic drive to the Northern Serengeti. Famed for the Great Migration, this region comes alive between July and October as vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles cross the plains—and the treacherous Mara River—pursued by predators like lions, cheetahs, and crocodiles.

In the late afternoon, arrive at GNU Migration Camp for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Spend a full day exploring the wildlife-rich Northern Serengeti. With luck, you’ll witness the dramatic Mara River crossings during the Great Migration, alongside sightings of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and vibrant birdlife. Enjoy a midday break before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

Return to GNU Migration Camp for dinner and an overnight stay

Today, you’ll travel from the dramatic landscapes of the Northern Serengeti, known for the thrilling Mara River crossings and the peak of the Great Migration, to the Central Serengeti, the beating heart of the park.

As you make your way south, the scenery transitions from rugged riverbanks to wide open savannahs, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with wildlife. This route offers incredible game-viewing opportunities, with chances to spot big cats, elephants, giraffes, and migrating herds along the way.

The Central Serengeti, part of the famous Seronera Valley, is rich in biodiversity and known for its year-round predator activity. Whether it’s lion prides lounging on kopjes or cheetahs scanning the plains, you’ll be immersed in the raw beauty of this iconic landscape.

Another day of adventure begins with an early morning breakfast before your departure to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving early allows ample time for an immersive game drive within the crater's extraordinary ecosystem.

The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies within the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area an innovative model where wildlife conservation and the needs of local communities coexist in harmony. This natural amphitheater is teeming with wildlife, including the iconic Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. You'll also encounter wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and a wide variety of antelope species. The crater’s lush environment supports a thriving population of both predators and herbivores, making it one of the best places in Africa for game viewing. Eileens tree Lodge.

As your unforgettable Serengeti Migration journey comes to an end, savor a relaxed breakfast at the lodge. With hearts full of memories, you'll head to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport for your departure, still carrying the echoes of the wild with you.

We had contacted Ultra Africa Adventures 4 months before our Christmas vacation to Zanzibar and the Serengeti. The Business has been running for 2 years and Agnus put us at ease with fantastic communication and what ever questions we had she quickly replied. We also did a video call with her a month before traveling to make sure everything was in place. She booked all the transfer flights, accommodation and safari tours guides etc, as it can be a bit of a mine field to navigate especially with language barriers but Agnus took care of it all.
